Hello, I'm Danielle, the heart and soul behind The
Wick & Vine. I want to take you on a fragrant journey through our story,
one that began during the lock-down of 2020 and has since blossomed into a thriving passion.
A Whiff of Inspiration
As the world slowed down in lock-down, I found myself spending a small fortune on store-bought candles and wax melts, only to be disappointed time and time again. Candles never seemed to have a strong enough scent, and wax melts lost their fragrance too quickly. I've always been in love with all things smelly - perfumes, candles, wax melts, diffusers, sprays - you name it!
Scents have this incredible power to transport you back to a feeling or a memory, and I wanted to capture that magic.
A Busy Life and a Burning Passion
During those challenging times, I needed something to keep me busy at home. I was a single parent, taking care of my one-year-old child and a loyal dog. I also worked two days a week as a Veterinary Nurse. But when I was home, I needed an outlet for my creativity. That's when I started making candles and wax melts, just for myself, friends, and family.
Wick & Vine Takes Off
To my surprise, the candles and wax melts I created started to gain popularity. So, I made a decision. On December 11, 2020, The Wick & Vine was officially launched. At that time, I was still making everything in my small kitchen, and the demand was incredible.
From Kitchen Creations to a Dedicated Workshop
As The Wick & Vine grew, so did my passion for creating scents. I expanded from my kitchen to the cellar to store my products. But I never forgot my roots. Today, I've taken over my partner's garage, and it has become my very own workshop. It's here that I meticulously blend, pour, and
package each scent-infused creation with love and care.
Expanding Our Aromatic Horizons
Starting with candles and wax melts, I ventured into reed diffusers and room sprays. They've become firm favourites since their launch, adding an extra layer of luxury and ambiance to homes.
